PHOTO BOOK: A TOUCH OF ROYALTY WITH CHANEL MOUCHE DE BEAUTÉ ILLUMINATING POWDER

This is a 'photo book' post, which is just filled with *lots* of happy snaps of an absolutely beautiful product. ^_^  Here, we have the star of the Chanel "Versailles de Chanel" Cruise 2012/2013 Makeup Collection by Chanel's Creative Director for Makeup - Peter Philips.  It's the Mouche De Beauté Illuminating Powder.  The amazing art work on the powder is inspired by the opulent decor of Château de Versailles.  The fashion show itself was indeed held at the Gardens of Versailles.  I remember the first time I visited this magical place some years ago for the first time, and it literally brought me to tears at just how beautiful the gardens were.  I think that was the first and only time that something like that has ever happened to me, so I'll never forget that! :)

Sandra's Closet has images of the makeup looks created for the runway.  The whole look is inspired by the young and rebellious Marie Antoinette - very girly with a futuristic, grungy take.  The other new item in the makeup collection is a bright pink eye shadow used quite heavily on the eyes(!) for the runway.  You can see swatches of it Chanel Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow in 'Rose Favorite' on Best Things In Beauty.  Since I rarely wear pink eye shadow, I didn't pick it up.

You'll find further below, photos of Mouche De Beauté together with the other latest illuminating powder released for the Spring 2013 collection: Poudre Signée De Chanel Illuminating Powder for comparison.  From the pan, the latter is much lighter and more of a pinky beige while Mouche De Beauté is much more of an antique rose gold and appears deeper and more pigmented.  So, I'd imagine the latter would give more colour to the skin as well as illuminating it.

I can't bring myself to use the powder yet - it's too beautiful.  Perhaps one day.  It is limited edition and exclusive to Chanel Boutiques and Makeup Studios, which make it harder to come by and is a real collector's item.  I hope you understand. ;)  Meanwhile, you may see a lovely swatch of it in Best Things in Beauty.  For now, Poudre Signée De Chanel Illuminating Powder has been fulfilling my Chanel highlighting needs. :)  Thoughts and swatches of this to come soon.

I hope you enjoy these photographs as much as I had fun taking them (slightly tricky with the product naturally illuminating though!) ^_^

Thanks for visiting my blog. ^_^ xo
